A tenant CANNOT move into a unit prior to the HAP contract being signed by the landlord and executed by Mobile Housing Board. If the tenant is living in the unit at the point of the inspection, the inspector will not conduct the inspection.
A rent reasonableness and affordability test will be conducted PRIOR to your unit being scheduled for an inspection.
The HCV participant family CANNOT pay over the agreed contract rent or participant rent share amount. The landlord should NOT request or accept any amount other than the amount agreed upon by the HAP contract.
Failure to adhere to the regulations above will result in immeditate action to terminate from the HCV assistance.
