Housing Programs Services Specialist

The Mobile Housing Authority (MHA) is seeking a dedicated and motivated professional to join our team as a Housing Programs Services Specialist. This position supports housing and resident service programs that help individuals and families achieve stability, connect with community resources, and work toward greater self-sufficiency.

Position Overview

The Housing Programs Services Specialist provides administrative and program support for housing-related initiatives and resident services programs. This position works closely with residents, staff, and community partners to support program participation and connect families with services that promote economic independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct interviews with applicants and program participants
• Maintain client records and program files
• Support resident engagement activities and community programs
• Recruit and assist participants for the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program
• Coordinate supportive services through community partners
• Assist with workshops, outreach activities, and resident programs
• Maintain accurate documentation and program records

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sociology, psychology, counseling, education, business administration, or a related field
• At least one year of experience in social services, case management, or related work

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Mobile Housing Authority invites resident youth to participate in a 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament at the Orange Grove Basketball Court.

Date: Saturday, April 18, 2026
Time: 9:00 AM
Location: Orange Grove Basketball Court

Youth ages 10–18 are invited to participate.

Teams will compete in two age divisions:
 
• Junior Division: Ages 10–13
• Teen Division: Ages 14–18

Each team will have 3 players, and games will be played on half courts with two games running at the same time. A maximum of 8 teams will participate in the tournament.

Registration Teams must sign up at the Orange Grove Rental Office.

Participants must be residents of Mobile Housing Authority properties to participate. A parent or guardian waiver must be completed for youth under 18.

Event Highlights
• 3-on-3 basketball tournament
• Organized bracket play
• Two age divisions
• Prizes for winning teams

We encourage all eligible youth residents to sign up and participate in this fun and competitive community event.

Join them for a Mobile Campus Community Event on April 4 at 11:00 AM, located at 1947 Duval Street, Mobile, AL 36606.

Families can enjoy an Egg Hunt, free food, and inflatables.

On March 2, Marie Mhoon and Erica Mosley of the Mobile Housing Authority (MHA) visited Craighead Elementary School to celebrate Dr. Seuss Day and National Read Across America Day.

They had the pleasure of reading to third-grade students, promoting the importance of literacy, imagination, and a lifelong love of reading. The students were engaged, enthusiastic, and truly a delight.

MHA extends special thanks to Principal Tracey Hunter and the faculty and staff of Craighead Elementary for their warm welcome and for their continued commitment to student achievement.

MHA is proud to support educational initiatives that encourage academic success and strengthen community partnerships.
