How do I list my property?

Our office no longer maintains a courtesy vacancy list. To list a property you may do so at GoSection8 or ALHousingSearch.org. You may also post a flyer on our bulletin board. Thank you

How do I become a landlord?

To become a participating Housing Choice Voucher landlord you may advertise the unit at www.gosection8.com. Once you have a potential tenant complete their Request for Tenancy Approval (RFTA) packet and provide a deed. The RFTA packet should be returned to our office by the Housing Choice Voucher Participant and we will contact you to schedule an inspection. Once the unit passes inspection you will be contacted regarding additional documents for payment processing.

We advise you not to allow the tenant to move into the unit prior to the inspection and submission of all final documents. Thank you

My tenant has not paid their portion of the rent!

The landlord is responsible for enforcing the lease. MHB HCV does not assume any management role of the assisted property. You should contact District Court regarding the legal process to evict. Send MHB HCV copies of all documents sent to your tenant. Thank You

You are welcome to use one of the computers located in our kiosk area to complete your annual renewal application. Remember you must provide verification of income and or deductions for us to process your renewal application. Most people forget to provide the necessary documentation required to finish their Lease Renewal. Documents that show your income change such as pay stubs, child support adjustments, etc.

Are you in the first year of your lease?

If NO: You are welcome to use one of our computers located in our kiosk area to electronically complete the required Vacate Notice to your current landlord. You MUST also complete a new application and provide all income and or deductions for us to process you to move. Upon receipt of your documents we will process your new voucher and Request for Tenancy Approval. Check your email for notice to pick up your new paperwork. Thank you
